Botswana Diamonds recovers first gems from Marsfontein mining permit

Botswana Diamonds said the first diamonds had been recovered from plant commissioning activities on the Marsfontein mining permit in South Africa.

The gems came from diamond bearing gravels and residual unprocessed stockpiles surrounding the Marsfontein mine.

Plant commissioning was well advanced following the installation of an in-field screen, two rotary pans, grease and x-ray recovery, Botswana Diamonds said.

'I am delighted with the rapid progress the team has made on-site and it is noteworthy that the first diamonds were recovered within two weeks of the Mining permit being granted,' chairman John Teeling said.

'I look forward to updating shareholders as the project develops.' At 1:05pm: (LON:BOD) Botswana Diamonds PLC share price was -0.18p at 1.15p
