ECR Minerals begins testing samples from Creswick gold project in Australia

ECR Minerals said testing of drilling sample bags taken from its Creswick gold project in Australia's Victoria state had demonstrated increased gold levels.

However, the company said the sampling process had taken longer than expected due to wet weather and that it had only recorded early results to date.

'A significant amount of further information is required before conclusions can be drawn,' ECR said.

The results so far had demonstrated significant variability from original assays, demonstrating that a small sample size can overstate and understate results.

The company noted that the original 44.63 grams per tonne assay from a 2 kilogram sample was increased to 63.03 grams per tonne.

'With our testing system now established and running further announcements are expected in the near future,' it added. At 1:16pm: (LON:ECR) ECR Minerals PLC share price was -0.03p at 0.88p
