Severn Trent trading in line after 'good' start to year

Water utility Severn Trent said it had made a 'good' start to the new financial year and expected to deliver a full-year result in line with prior guidance.

In trading update for the period running from 1 April to 17 July, the company said it remained on track to deliver at least £25m in customer ODI outperformance payments this year.

It had also generated 123Gwh from its own renewable sources, equivalent to 52% of its energy needs, positioning the company on the right run rate to exceed its 50% target for the year.

'This is an important step in our triple carbon pledge for 2030, 20 years ahead of the recent government commitment,' Severn Trent said.
