Block Energy starts output improvement works at Georgia oil play

Block Energy said it had commenced a workover programme at its Norio oil field in Georgia, intended to scale up production 'rapidly' by the end of 2018.

The company said it planned to carry out two workover campaigns on eight wells through the fourth quarter of 2018 and first quarter of 2019, using an A50 rig and a specialist perforation tool imported from North America.

The workovers would proceed in sequence, with each expected to take five-to seven days to complete.

All eight wells were expected to be worked over by the end of March, with the aim of scaling Norio's production to 150 barrels of oil per day from the current 10. At 2:19pm: (LON:BLOE) Block Energy Plc Ord Shs Gbp0.0025 share price was +0.08p at 2.98p
