His charity walks have taken him more than 200 miles and up the highest mountains in the UK over the past three years.
And this summer Mark Rigby, investment manager and head of the Cambridge office of investment management and stockbroking firm Redmayne Bentley is preparing for an Ultra long walk this summer as he is set to take part in the
100km Peak District Challenge. The challenge is part of the Ultra Challenge series of fundraising events across the country.
Mark is taking the gruelling Bakewell Full Loop trek, featuring 1,800 metres of climb, on July 13th and 14th to raise money for Cancer Research UK, in memory of his mother, Patricia Lowe.
He said: “Like many people, I have seen first-hand the devastating affects cancer can have on families and wanted to help make a difference. This journey will take me on a 100km figure of eight through Derbyshire, which is beautiful but of course very challenging.”
Mark is no stranger to a challenge. In 2016, he walked 100km from London to Cambridge for Macmillan Cancer Support and the 100km Cotswold Way for Cancer Research UK the following year. Last year he took on the three national peaks of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours to raise funds for Brainbow, a pioneering service supporting children with brain tumours.
