Lord Mayor of Exeter Joins for 150th Anniversary Midsummer Celebration

Redmayne Bentley, one of the UK’s longest-established independent investment management, stockbroking and financial planning firms, celebrated its 150th anniversary with a midsummer celebration at the historic Devon and Exeter Institution.

The event, held in the Georgian surroundings, brought together distinguished guests and colleagues to celebrate the firm’s history. We were delighted to welcome The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Anne Jobson. The setting, steeped in history and positioned opposite Exeter Cathedral, provided a fitting backdrop for an afternoon of reflection, discussion, and celebration.

Denis Oppong, Investment Manager and Head of Office, welcomed guests and shared insights into the firm’s journey since its founding in 1875, “This anniversary is not just a celebration of our past, but a reaffirmation of our values and our commitment to the future. We are proud of our past and look forward to an exciting future.”

“From our beginnings in Leeds to our presence here in Exeter, we’ve remained focused on building trusted relationships and delivering personal service. It is a privilege to mark this milestone in such a historic venue.”

Attendees were provided with an update on the markets at the mid-summer point, along with an overview of the history of the firm.

The celebration formed part of a wider programme of events across the UK to commemorate Redmayne Bentley’s 150th year.
