Capita secures £107m Northern Ireland contract extension

(Sharecast News) - Capita announced on Tuesday that it has secured a £107m contract extension with the Education Authority of Northern Ireland, under which it will continue providing IT services to over 1,100 schools across the region. The London-listed firm said the two-year extension would run from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2027, and include an option to extend by a further two years on a one-plus-one basis.

It said the agreement would extend its 13-year relationship with the Education Authority and cover the ongoing delivery of managed IT and application services to primary, secondary, special educational needs, and nursery schools.

The contract included the provision of computer hardware and software, IT consultancy, and a range of associated support services.

Capita said the deal aligned with its strategy to enhance the delivery of complex public services at scale through the integration of people, processes and technology, while improving user experience for both school staff and pupils.

"We look forward to continuing our long-standing partnership with the Education Authority of Northern Ireland, and remain incredibly proud to be delivering essential services that support learning and education across Northern Ireland," said Capita Public Service chief executive officer Richard Holroyd.

At 0809 BST, shares in Capita were up 2.54% at 13.31p.
