Wizz Air passenger numbers rise in February

(Sharecast News) - Low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Tuesday that both passenger numbers and seat capacity had improved in February. Wizz Air said it had carried 4.6m passengers last month, up 5.1% year-on-year, while seat capacity increased 3%, resulting in a load factor of 91.8%, up 1.8 percentage points on February 2024.

The London-listed firm stated the yield environment and booking profile "remained positive" but noted that it had moderated when compared to its January year-on-year improvement.

Wizz Air also said it has seen better-than-expected revenue trends for Q1 when compared to the prior year, underpinning "a stronger start" to the current trading year.

As of 0935 GMT, Wizz Air shares were down 3.88% at 1,512.0p.
