Trump looking to place 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico

(Sharecast News) - The US president said that he is aiming to levy 25% tariffs on imports from and Mexico by 1 February. Donald Trump made the remarks from the Oval Office, in response to journalists' questions, as he was signing a raft of executive orders.

In separate remarks, Trump said that he was not yet ready to put in place a universal tariff on all countries.

During the election, the president had indicated that he would place a universal tariff of at least 10%.
