Judges Scientific appoints group acquisitions executive

(Sharecast News) - Judges Scientific announced the appointment of Rik Armitage as group acquisitions executive on Tuesday, with immediate effect, as it looked to further strengthen its buy-and-build growth strategy. The AIM-traded firm said Armitage would support chief executive David Cicurel in expanding the group's pipeline of potential acquisitions while maintaining its disciplined approach.

He would also join the group's recently formed executive committee.

Armitage was bringing over 30 years of experience in strategy and mergers and acquisitions within manufacturing and technology sectors.

He was most recently head of corporate development at Oxford Instruments, where he led three acquisitions in laboratory instruments and scientific cameras.

Prior to that, he spent 14 years at Chemring Group, completing 12 acquisitions in energetic materials and defence electronics across the UK, Europe and the US.

"We are delighted to welcome Rik to Judges," said Cicurel.

"He brings with him a vast amount of experience and we look forward to benefiting from his expertise as the group continues to execute its buy and build growth strategy."

At 1250 BST, shares in Judges Scientific were down 2.03% at 8,700p.
