FTSE 100 movers: Convatec gains on JPM note, easyJet flies lower

(Sharecast News) - London's FTSE 100 was down 0.3% at 8,752.32 in afternoon trade on Monday. Convatec was the standout gainer as JPMorgan Cazenove said it was well positioned into first-half results and placed the shares on 'positive catalyst watch'.

Berkeley Group advanced even as Berenberg cut its price target on the stock to 5,000 from 5,500p.

The bank said it was keeping its 'buy' rating on the stock following its FY25 results on 20 June, with an average 2% cut to its 2026-27 earnings per share forecasts. It said the price target reduction reflects "some updated assumptions in our valuation matrix".

Bunzl was also trading up ahead of a pre-close trading statement on Tuesday.

Oil giant BP rose amid firmer oil prices, but budget airline easyJet fell for the same reason, amid the prospect of higher fuel costs.

In terms of sectors, utilities were on the front foot, with SSE, National Grid, Severn Trent and British Gas owner Centrica all up.
