Stellantis postpones production of electric Dodge Charger Daytona

(Sharecast News) - Netherlands-based auto giant Stellantis has announced that it will postpone production of its electric Dodge Charger Daytona amid ongoing tariff-related uncertainty. The news comes amid a mass-market slowdown for electric vehicles, while automakers contend with the Trump administration's 25% levies on imported vehicles and parts.

Manufacturing for the 2026 electric Dodge Charger Daytona was scheduled to take place at Stellantis's Windsor facility in Ontario, Canada, but will now be delayed.

Production, however, will continue for other variants of the model, it said.

Stellantis announced a CAD3.6bn ($2.8bn) investment in its Windsor and Brampton assembly plants in Ontario to support its Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, introducing an all-new, flexible architecture to support the company's electrification plans.

However, the Brampton site has faced delays in reopening following retooling activity over recent months - thought to be a result of tariff uncertainty.
