Friday preview: US PCE inflation, UK GDP in focus

(Sharecast News) - The market spotlight at the end of the week will be on the release of a reading on the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge. Consensus is that the annual rate of increase in the price deflator for personal consumption expenditures was unchanged at 2.5%.

The pace of increase in core PCE prices meanwhile was expected to have ticked higher by one tenth of a percentage point to 2.7%.

Earlier, at 0700 GMT, the Office for National Statistics was scheduled to publish a reading on gross domestic product for the fourth quarter.

Also due out on Friday is a reading for German unemployment in February, alongside reports on French and Spanish consumer prices in March.

Consultancy GfK meanwhile is due to release a reading on German consumer confidence for April.
