German Feb CPI steady at 2.8% but higher than forecasts

(Sharecast News) - German inflation was higher-than-expected at 2.8% in February, according to flash data from the Federal statistics agency Destatis published on Friday. The figure was unchanged from January and compared to estimates of 2.7%. Core inflation, which strips volatile items such as food and energy costs, was 2.6%, down from January's 2.9%.
