Honda, Nissan formally abandon merger talks

(Sharecast News) - Japanese auto giants Honda and Nissan officially abandoned merger talks on Thursday after failing to agree on the future structure of the new company.

The duo will collaborate under a strategic partnership, according to a joint statement.

"Going forward, Nissan and Honda will collaborate within the framework of a strategic partnership aimed at the era of intelligence and electrified vehicles, striving to create new value and maximize the corporate value of both companies," they added.
