GSK highlights pipeline momentum with Ris‑Rez phase III success, Jideytro first‑line efficacy

(Sharecast News) - Drugmaker GSK reported two major advances in its oncology pipeline on Monday, as new data showed its B7‑H3 antibody‑drug conjugate Ris‑Rez delivered a significant survival benefit in relapsed small cell lung cancer, while registrational results for Jideytro supported a potential move into first‑line ROS1‑positive non‑small cell lung cancer. Licensor Hansoh Pharmaceutical reported that Ris‑Rez cut the risk of death by 54% versus topotecan in the phase III ARTEMIS‑008 trial in China, according to the update published by GSK.

Patients treated with the ADC lived a median 18.5 months, compared with 10.3 months for the comparator, while progression‑free survival more than doubled to 7.2 months, and objective response and disease‑control rates reached 58.3% and 90.4%, respectively.

Severe treatment‑related adverse events were lower with Ris‑Rez, with grade three or higher events in 60.9% of patients versus 78.2% for topotecan. GSK added that it was developing the therapy for SCLC and other solid tumours outside China.

Separately, GSK presented positive registrational phase I/II ARROS‑1 data for Jideytro in TKI‑naïve ROS1‑positive NSCLC, with the FTSE 100-listed company stating the drug achieved a 94% objective response rate after 15.2 months' follow‑up, with 90% of patients progression‑free at 12 months and median PFS not yet reached.

Among patients with measurable brain metastases, 70% saw complete clearance of detectable tumours, while intracranial responses were maintained in most patients at 12 months, with no CNS progression in those without baseline metastases.

GSK said the results will support a planned US regulatory submission in 2026.

As of 0845 BST, GSK shares were up 2.82% at 1,820.50p.
