Shuka drilling confirms mineralisation at unmined Kabwe zones

(Sharecast News) - Shuka Minerals said on Friday that drilling at the Kabwe zinc project in Zambia had confirmed mineralisation in the previously unmined Speaks and Mine Club zones, more than one kilometre northwest of the main Pit 2 area. Hole KBDD06 returned several zinc-bearing intervals, including 6.00 metres at 4.57% zinc with peak readings above 20%, while KBDD07 intersected three mineralised zones with grades of up to 1.60% zinc.

The company said the northern holes were designed to test the less-defined extremities of the orebodies and that drilling had been extended to 2,500 metres following encouraging results.

Chief executive Richard Lloyd said the programme had "again hit mineralisation in our first holes and demonstrated the northerly reaches of the orebodies," with further drilling now moving towards the central part of the northern orebody.

At 1613 BST, shares in Shuka Minerals were down 6.12% at 2.3p.
