Guardian Metal enters partnership with Montana Mining Association

(Sharecast News) - Guardian Metal said on Wednesday that it had entered into a strategic partnership with the Montana Mining Association to advance a US-based tungsten mining and recovery pilot programme for domestic defence applications, alongside Montana Technological University and the Army Research Laboratory. The AIM-traded company will supply an initial 250 to 400 tonnes of stockpiled legacy ore from its Tempiute Tungsten project in Nevada for trial processing in Montana.

First shipments are expected by late summer 2026, subject to metallurgical and pilot-scale test work, with further shipments possible if the initial programme succeeds.

Chief executive Oliver Friesen said the initiative represented "a tangible step toward building an entirely domestic supply chain, free from reliance on foreign sources."

At 1151 BST, shares in Guardian Metal Resources were down 5.23% at 185p.
