Eurozone construction output edges higher

(Sharecast News) - Construction output across the eurozone edged higher in April, while March's growth was revised sharply higher, according to data out on Thursday from Eurostat. The EU's statistical office reported that seasonally adjusted production in construction increased by 0.6% across the single-currency region in April.

That followed a revised 1.7% increase in March, which was initially reported as 0.8%.

While building construction activity fell by 0.1% month-on-month, production of civil engineering work and specialised construction activities both increased by 0.8%.

The strongest monthly growth in overall construction output was seen in Slovenia (+3.6%), while the biggest decline was registered in Slovakia (-6.7%).
