Lloyds, Halifax, Bank of Scotland customers report online banking outages

(Sharecast News) - Customers across the banking subsidiaries of Lloyds Banking Group were affected by app outages on Wednesday, with thousands thought to be unable to access online banking. Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland were hit by the same issues, with outage website Downdetector seeing problems reported just after 1100 BST.

The mobile apps of the three banks, which together have around 26m customers, were up and running by mid-afternoon, according to reports.

"We're aware some customers are having issues with our app and online banking," Lloyds Bank posted on X.

"We're really sorry about this. We're working hard to fix it and will let you know as soon as we're back to normal."

The outages followed an IT issue in March which resulted in hundreds of thousands of Lloyds Banking Group customers seeing discrepancies in their accounts online, including being able to view other people's transactions.

LLOY shares were trading 0.4% lower at 99.66p by 1537 BST.
