France's Lactalis buys Protein Works

(Sharecast News) - France's Lactalis said on Monday that it has bought the UK's Protein Works. The French dairy products company - which owns brands such as President, Galbani and Parmalat, among others - did not disclose any financial details.

Chairman Emmanuel Besnier said: "The integration of this innovative company and talented teams strengthens our position in the fast-growing active nutrition market.

"By combining our longstanding expertise in dairy proteins and health nutrition with Protein Works' strong brand and innovative approach, we are confident we can continue to create products that respond to changing consumer expectations in this dynamic and growing category."

Established in 2012, Protein Works is a direct-to-consumer functional food brand based in Cheshire. The business specialises in premium nutrition products, including protein shakes, meal replacements, wellness supplements, and high-protein snacks, all developed and manufactured in-house.
