Aurrigo secures ground handling licence at East Midlands Airport

(Sharecast News) - Aurrigo International announced on Tuesday that it has been granted a licence to provide ground handling services at East Midlands Airport, supporting the roll-out of its autonomous aviation technologies. The AIM-traded autonomy software and autonomous vehicle specialist said the licence was obtained specifically to enable it to work directly with airport teams and partners during the deployment of its autonomous ground service equipment.

It said the approval would allow it to operate within the airport's ground handling framework and provide on-the-ground, one-to-one support during implementation.

"Securing this licence is another important step in our partnership with East Midlands Airport," said chief executive David Keene.

"We have deliberately sought this approval to make sure we can support our partners as closely as possible, operating fully within the airport's ground handling framework.

"This means we can be on the ground, providing one-to-one support during the roll-out of our autonomous solutions, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated, compliant, and successful from the outset.

"We look forward to working alongside EMA and our partners to help shape the future of airside automation in the UK and beyond."

At 1115 GMT, shares in Aurrigo International were down 2.8% at 85.05p.
