Invinity wins 12MWh battery order from US national lab

(Sharecast News) - Batteries manufacturer Invinity Energy Systems said on Monday that it had secured a sale of a 12MWh Endurium battery system to the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Invinity said the system will be installed at PNNL's Richland, Washington campus, where it will be used to demonstrate the role of advanced long‑duration storage in supporting a low‑cost, high‑reliability grid.

The AIM-listed group also noted that the sale followed a recent visit by US Energy Secretary Chris Wright to PNNL's Grid Storage Launchpad, where he initiated testing of an Invinity battery.

Invinity added that delivery of the battery system was expected in the second half of 2026.

President Matt Harper said: "Invinity is thrilled to be providing one of the main components of PNNL's most recent facility, the Grid Storage Launchpad, to prove how our safe, durable, long duration vanadium flow batteries can help enhance the future electric grid.

"The inherent characteristics of our proven technology, including its ability to deliver both instantaneous demand response and extended discharge durations over decades of service, makes it the ideal solution for maximising this potential."

As of 1120 GMT, Invinity shares were up 7.95% at 19.70p.
