RIT Capital Partners plc (the "Company") announces that it has purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of £1 each on the London Stock Exchange.   The purchased shares will be held in treasury.

  Following the share buyback the Company's issued ordinary share capital consists of 141,114,913 ordinary shares, 2,224,093 of which shares (being 1.58% of the Company's total issued share capital) are held in treasury. Each share carries one vote. Accordingly, the number of shares with voting rights in issue is 138,890,820. This figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
