Alba Mineral Resources reports progress at Motzfeldt, Clogau

(Sharecast News) - Alba Mineral Resources reported progress at its Motzfeldt critical metals project in Greenland and its Clogau gold mine in Wales on Wednesday, while confirming remedial work is required before further blasting can resume at Clogau. The AIM-traded company said its 2025 field programme at Motzfeldt had been completed, including surveys and sampling at the Merino prospect and a drone survey to support geological mapping.

Around 100 samples were collected for analysis, with results expected in the coming months.

Alba said it had also selected a contractor for mineralogical and metallurgical test work on a bulk sample from the Aries deposit, which was expected to take three to four months.

Initial discussions with government agencies have been held to secure funding.

At Clogau, a preparatory blast was carried out in July as part of the next phase of drilling and blasting at the Llechfraith target.

However, following a visit by the HM Inspectorate of Mines, Alba said further underground assessments and works would need to be completed before blasting can resume, a process likely to take around one month.

"We have collected new data in relation to the exciting Merino prospect which should, in the coming weeks and months, help us to assess and develop its potential as another key source of critical raw materials within the Motzfeldt Centre, alongside the existing Aries Deposit," said executive chairman George Frangeskides.

"Back in the UK, we are having to do some remedial works in the mine at Clogau before we can continue with the next phase of drilling and blasting at our key Llechfraith gold target.

"This comes with the territory of operating an existing mine, where health & safety is paramount."

At 1213 BST, shares in Alba Mineral Resources were up 5.29% at 0.02p.
