Convatec taps McConnell for CFO as Ryder prepares to step down
(Sharecast News) - Medical products group Convatec said on Tuesday that Jill McConnell will succeed Fiona Ryder as chief financial officer, with the appointment taking effect on 1 March 2027 following an orderly handover period.
McConnell will join the company as CFO-designate on 1 January and become a board director when she formally takes over the role two months later. Ryder will remain in post through Convatec's full-year results on 23 February before leaving the business at the end of February.
McConnell joins from US-listed clinical research company Fortrea, where she served as CFO and helped oversee its 2023 spin-off from Labcorp. She also held senior finance roles at Labcorp and GSK, including CFO positions at Labcorp Drug Development, ViiV Healthcare and GSK's US pharmaceuticals business.
Convatec said the appointment supports delivery of its Accelerate strategy and follows the announcement in July that Ryder would step down as part of a planned succession process. Ryder joined Convatec in 2022.
As of 1130 GMT, Convatec shares were down 0.73% at 243.80p.
