CleanTech produces 330kg of high-purity lithium carbonate

(Sharecast News) - CleanTech Lithium said on Friday that it produced about 330kg of high-purity lithium carbonate from 55,000 litres of eluate generated at its Laguna Verde direct lithium extraction pilot plant in Chile. Five processing campaigns delivered purity levels ranging from 99.68% to 99.91%, while a further 250kg of lithium carbonate remains contained in recycle fluids for recovery.

The AIM-traded company said further work was under way to validate and optimise the process used in the Laguna Verde pre-feasibility study ahead of a definitive feasibility study.

This includes pilot testing in Chile, adsorbent trials in France and a spent-brine reinjection study covering technical, environmental and economic options.

At 1132 BST, shares in CleanTech Lithium were up 4.35% at 6p.
