Greencore lifts FY26 profit guidance as Q3 revenues rise 3.2pc

(Sharecast News) - Convenience foods manufacturer Greencore said on Wednesday that third‑quarter pro forma revenues were up 3.2% at £1.02bn, prompting it to raise its FY26 adjusted operating profit guidance to above market expectations at £234m to £242m. Greencore said the uplift was driven largely by stronger underlying trading across the enlarged business, with volume and mix contributing 2.3% and price/inflation recovery adding 0.9%.

Manufactured pro forma volumes rose 0.7%, ahead of the wider grocery market's ‑0.4%, supported by a broader portfolio following the Bakkavor acquisition. Legacy Greencore grew 0.3% and legacy Bakkavor 1.0%, with standout performances in quiche, bread, sushi and chilled dips.

Underlying profit momentum also exceeded expectations across both businesses, helped by volume growth and continued margin improvement as excellence programmes supported disciplined cost control.

Cashflow was positive in the quarter, with first-half working capital outflow already reversing and Greencore still expecting a neutral net working capital position by year‑end.

Greencore also highlighted that Q4 had started well, with strong volume momentum and early cross‑selling wins, including a combined desserts launch in August.

Looking ahead, Greencore reiterated expectations for roughly £15m of in‑year cost synergies and at least £80m annually over time, and said the potential sale of its US business remained under review.

As of 0820 BST, Greencore shares were up 8.3% at 240.20p.
