Frontier IP's inSignals awarded grant for Parkinson's tech

(Sharecast News) - Frontier IP said on Monday that its portfolio company inSignals Neurotech had been awarded a €317,762 grant, co-financed by the EU under Portugal 2030 through the NORTE 2030 programme, to expand its Parkinson's monitoring technology to third-party wearables including smartwatches and smart rings. Frontier IP holds a 32.9% equity stake in the company. It said InSignals is also launching a mobile app for Parkinson's patients and caregivers, funded by a previous PRR Green Vouchers grant, to support symptom monitoring and communication with clinicians.

Co-founder and chief scientific officer João Paulo Cunha said the funding would bring its algorithms "beyond specialised clinical settings and into everyday wearable devices", while Frontier IP chief executive Neil Crabb said the grant and app launch "validate the ground-breaking nature of the Company's technology."

At 1446 BST, shares in Frontier IP Group were up 15.02% at 16.1p.
