US strikes military targets on Kharg Island - reports

(Sharecast News) - The ​US ‌military has carried out strikes ​on ​military targets ⁠on ​Iran's vital oil hub, ​Kharg Island, it was reported on Tuesday. Axios reported that a senior US official has confirmed attacks on the island's military targets.

Meanwhile, according to Iran's semi-official Mehr News Agency, several attacks have been carried out and explosions have been heard on the island.

The reported strikes came just hours before Donald Trump's deadline for Iran to reach a deal and reopen the strait of Hormuz or face the "complete demolition" of its energy and transport infrastructure. They also came as the US President took to social media with his latest threats.

"A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again," he wrote on Truth Social.

"I don't want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World.
