Trustpilot appoints The Economist Group's Marcus Roy as CFO

(Sharecast News) - Trustpilot said on Tuesday that Marcus Roy has been appointed chief financial officer following "a thorough and wide-ranging search". Roy will join the board of directors as an executive director on 14 September and succeed Hanno Damm, who will be stepping down after over a decade with the company, as previously announced.

Damm will step-down from the board on 14 September but remain with the business until October to ensure a seamless transition, Trustpilot said.

Roy joins Trustpilot from The Economist Group, where he has served as group CFO since 2021. In that capacity, he has held executive responsibility for the financial strategy and operations "of one of the world's most respected global media brands," the company said.

Roy is a Deloitte-trained chartered accountant with more than 20 years of financial leadership experience across listed and large-scale private businesses. Prior to The Economist Group, he served as group financial controller at Associated British Foods, where he was responsible for group-wide financial reporting and controls.

Before that, he spent over 14 years in a series of progressively senior finance roles at Dixons Carphone and Carphone Warehouse.

Chief executive Adrian Blair said: "I am delighted to welcome Marcus to the Trustpilot leadership team. His proven experience scaling a subscription and data business at The Economist while maintaining strong financial discipline will be hugely valuable as we scale Trustpilot into the vast market opportunity ahead.

"Marcus brings not only exceptional financial expertise, but international and listed-company experience alongside the strategic perspective to help us deliver sustained value for our shareholders."
