Eurozone investor confidence hits seven-month high
(Sharecast News) - Investor sentiment across the eurozone rose for the third straight month in February to its highest since July 2025, according to a closely followed survey from Sentix on Monday, raising hopes that the economic upturn may have finally begun.
The Sentix Economic Index, which surveys over 1,000 private and institutional financial market investors across the region each month, increased to +4.2 from -1.8 in January and -6.2 in December.
While still in negative territory, the current situation index increased to -6.8 in February from -13.0, marking the highest reading since April 2023.
Meanwhile, the expectations index jumped to 15.8 from 10.0, its highest since July 2025.
According to Sentix, the readings are "showing a silver living for the eurozone economy", and indicate that a recession across the region has now come to an end.
"Despite discussions about a gas shortage, the investors surveyed by Sentix are also extremely confident about the German economy," the report said.
"While private investors remain somewhat cautious, the institutional investors surveyed by sentix are clearly shedding their bearish outlook."
