Churchill China H2 trading in line with expectations

(Sharecast News) - Pottery business Churchill China said on Monday that trading in the second half of the year was in line with expectations, with full‑year turnover coming in at around £76m and pre-tax profits in line with market forecasts. Churchill China said European sales improved on the prior year, leaving the region broadly level with 2024 by year‑end, while in the UK, the firm said it had maintained its market‑leading position, though it noted demand was held back by tougher macroeconomic conditions.

The AIM-listed firm stated its US business also finished the year ahead of the prior period despite dollar weakness, while performance across the rest of the world was said to be softer as several large projects were delayed into later periods.

Churchill added that its materials division traded well despite lower sector volumes, although the decision by a major UK customer to source materials directly was expected to weigh on revenue. However, Churchill said mitigating actions were in place to limit the impact on profitability.

Year‑end cash stood at £10.8m, ahead of the company's opening position.

As of 0935 GMT, Churchill shares were up 0.62% at 397.45p.
