US job openings climb modestly in October, September revised sharply higher

(Sharecast News) - US job openings edged higher in October, rising by 12,000 to 7.67m, according to delayed figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. September vacancies were revised to 7.65m, marking a sharp 431,000 jump from August's 7.22m level, with both months comfortably topping forecasts of 7.2m.

The release, covering both September and October, came later than usual after a 43‑day government shutdown stretched from October into November, forcing the BLS to postpone its regular publication schedule.
