Bidders eye up Versarien as fire sale continues

(Sharecast News) - A number of bidders have thrown their hat in the ring for Versarien, the ailing engineering materials group confirmed on Wednesday. The AIM-listed firm is selling off its assets, which consist of its patent portfolio and shareholdings in Total Carbide and Gnanomat.

Two other businesses - Cambridge Graphene and 2-DTech - are in voluntary liquidation proceedings, while Versarien Graphene is in administration.

In a brief statement, the company said it had received a "range of offers...from a number of interested parties", which it was now evaluating.

However, it cautioned: "Until legal agreements are signed there is no certainty of the outcome."

Versarien currently has enough cash to last until the end of the month.
