About us

James is based at the firm’s Leeds Head Office in Wellington Place and has responsibility for investment management and research as well as sponsoring and leading business change across the firm. He joined Redmayne Bentley from KPMG, where he was Head of Equity Research in their investment advisory division and advised large corporate pension schemes on their asset allocation.
 
Before joining KPMG, James, a Chartered Wealth Manager, spent nearly seven years as a UK Equity Manager for the West Yorkshire Pension Fund, managing around £500m of UK equities. James spent the formative part of his career in the private client investment management industry with Rathbone Investment Management.
 
In addition to his Main Board and Executive Board responsibilities, James is also Head of Redmayne Bentley’s Strategic Asset Allocation committee and manages our MPS proposition.
 
James has an MBA with Distinction from the University of Leeds and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment with over 19 years of institutional and private client investment management experience.

During 2021 James became an Equity Partner of the firm and sits on both the Main and Executive Boards. 

James focuses on long-term clients as well as working with families and pension schemes. James began his career with a large US investment bank in 2002, working in derivative teams between London and New York.

In 2007 James moved to co-manage a £100m UK Equity Fund employing a covered call option strategy over a
focused set of FTSE 100 companies. James moved into private client investment management in 2010 and since then has been managing portfolios for individuals and families in the UK and overseas. James is a member of the Strategic Asset Allocation Committee and the Collectives Committee.

Jon is an investment manager and joined Redmayne Bentley in 2005. He is responsible for co-managing the firm’s central AIM IHT service. He also manages bespoke discretionary portfolios for individuals, charities and trusts. Jon is a member of Redmayne Bentley’s committees for both Strategic Asset Allocation and Alternatives & Property.
 
Jon graduated with a degree in Physics from University College London. He has achieved Chartered Fellow status with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and holds the CISI Diploma.

Lawrence joined Redmayne Bentley’s Leeds Head Office in 2021. He is responsible for supporting the Investment Managers in all areas relating to private clients and intermediaries. He is a member of Redmayne Bentley’s Strategic Asset Allocation Committee as well as the various asset class and investment research committees.
 
Previously he served as Executive Director and Head of Investment Management at Midlands based BRI Wealth Management, where he was responsible for delivering successful strategic, regulatory and operational initiatives.
 
Lawrence will be a key point of contact to understand your firm's requirements and how they may align with the services Redmayne Bentley can offer. In addition, as an integral member of the Your Portfolio Service Committee, he has extensive insight into portfolio construction, investment decision-making and the ongoing management of the underlying model portfolios.
 
Lawrence gained a dual Honours from Keele University and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment
