Director dealings: BAT non-exec invests, LondonMetric directors cover tax bills

(Sharecast News) - Cigarette giant British American Tobacco was on the list of buys on Tuesday, after a non-executive director spent more than £40k on shares. The company said Veronique Laury purchased 1,650 shares on 19 June, in a single transaction on the London Stock Exchange.

Laury paid 2,593.5p for each share, valuing the transaction at a total of £42,792.75.

On the selling side of the ledger was LondonMetric Property, which disclosed the vesting of 2020 long-term incentive plan shares and the subsequent sale of them for five different directors.

The firm said Andrew Jones vested 499,295 shares and sold 235,375 to cover tax liabilities, while Martin McGann vested 258,741 and offloaded 121,975.

Both Valentine Beresford and Mark Stirling vested 267,406 and sold 126,059 shares each, while Andrew Smith vested 142,919 shares and sold 67,375 to cover his tax bill.

LondonMetric said the shares were disposed of on 19 June, at an average price of 175.15p each.

At 1521 BST, shares in British American Tobacco were up 0.06% at 2,572p, while those on LondonMetric Property were off 0.56% at 173.32p.
