Pensions

A range of flexible ways to manage your pension arrangements.

Redmayne-Bentley offer investment services for a wide range of pension types including Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs), Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSASs), Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme (QROPS), Funded Unapproved Retirement Benefit Schemes (FURBS) and small company schemes.

What are the benefits of Self-Invested Pensions?

  • Control - over who manages the fund, how it is invested and how this changes as your lifestyle changes.
  • Flexibility - over contribution amounts and frequencies, benefit options and investments.
  • Transparency - over what your fund is invested into and how much you are paying each party for the services they provide.

What are the risks of Self-Invested Pensions?

  • Investments and income arising from them can fall in value and you may lose some or all of the amount you have invested.
  • Tax treatment depends on the specific circumstances of each individual and may be subject to change in the future.

Info Point

Please Note:
We are not a provider of pensions, nor a pensions adviser, instead we offer self-investment or investment management services for your plan. If you are in doubt about which SIPP provider to use, or on the merits of a SIPP for your personal circumstances, you should consult the services of a Financial Adviser. We can provide you with a referral to an authorised firm on request.

What are SIPPs?

A Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) allows you to take control over your pension and ultimately the funds you will have available in retirement. You can invest it yourself or take advantage of our Investment Management services. The fund will be invested in line with objectives and risk levels that suit you at your stage in life.

SIPP Providers

Below is a list of providers offering a range of products with different charging structures and covering a variety of investment options, from 'simple' products, which are usually lower cost products that only allow investment in stocks and shares, through to more complex, and therefore more expensive, products that allow for property or alternative investments in addition to stocks and shares.

Due to the variance in the permitted investments, the low-cost options may not be the most suitable for you. This list is not exhaustive and should not be taken as a recommendation to use any of the particular providers or products and you should do your own research before selecting the most appropriate SIPP for you. For a full list of SIPP providers please visit the Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes at www.ampsonline.co.uk

The charges shown are not comprehensive and each provider will make additional charges for other services such as income withdrawal and transferring in and out.

What are SSASs?

A Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS) is a workplace pension scheme where the members are usually company directors. A SSAS has less than 12 members and these are normally trustees as well. The members and employer generally have more flexibility around, and more control over, the scheme's investments than with other occupational pension schemes.

Once you have set up your SSAS, you can download the Pension Dealing Account Form or request one from our Pensions team on 0113 200 6580. In addition to this form, we also require certified copies of the most recent 'Trust Deed and Rules' and the HMRC Approval Letter.

Other Pension Schemes

If you have a QROPS, FURBS or any other pension scheme, you will need to complete our Pension Dealing Account Form. Please call our Pensions team on 0113 200 6580 to request a hard copy of the form or to discuss your requirements further. We will require further information following receipt of the completed form.
