Chrysalis VCT has announced that Martin Knight has taken over as chairman following retirement of Peter Harkness at the end of September.

The board said: 'Peter has been a major influence on Chrysalis VCT since he joined the board in 2005.

'He took over as chairman in 2008 and has presided over a period of excellent performance for the company in which the self-managed structure has continued to be very effective.

'We thank Peter for his substantial contribution over the last 12 years.

'We will miss his leadership and wish him well.'

The company also announced the appointment of Robert Jeens as a new non-executive director.

The company said Jeens had extensive experience in the asset management industry and significant exposure to the technology sector.

He is chairman of Allianz Technology Trust and Remote Media Group and a non-executive director of JPMorgan Russian Securities.

He will take over from Knight as chairman of the audit committee.

Knight said: 'We are very pleased to welcome such a high calibre candidate to the Chrysalis VCT board.

'We believe that Robert brings experience and an additional skillset to the Board which will prove very helpful with a number of our investee companies and are greatly looking forward to working with him.'
