Ocado sees 13.1% revenue growth in 13-week period

Ocado on Tuesday announced results for the 13-week period to 27 August 2017, showing continued strong growth in revenue of 13.1%.

Ocado also saw stronger growth in average orders per week in Q3 as they continue to acquire and retain customers, the company reported.

Revenue rose to £344.5m, up from £312.7m for the same period in the previous year.

Average orders per week were also up to 254,000 from 219,000 year-on-year.

Tim Steiner, Ocado's Chief Executive Officer, said:

"We are pleased to report another strong quarter of growth. Our industry-leading technology has continued to set the bar for customer service and satisfaction and we continue to grow sales at a rate significantly in excess of the average for our industry. Recent innovations include Ocado becoming the first UK grocer to offer its customers Amazon's Alexa voice-activated tool, meaning they can verbally modify their online grocery orders."
