Just Eat-Hungryhouse deal faces in-depth CMA probe

10 May 2017 07:58

Just Eat's proposed takeover of Hungryhouse will be subject to an in-depth investigation by the Competition and Markets Authority.

Just Eat said it noted the CMA's decision that it intended to refer its review of the proposed acquisition to a 'phase 2' investigation and looked forward to cooperating with the CMA.

Just Eat said it was committed to demonstrating to the CMA that the market was, and would remain, competitive following completion of the proposed transaction. In the meantime, Just Eat said it would continue to operate its business as usual.
