Toumaz undertakes trials at hospital in Birmingham

21 April 2015 08:12

Toumaz, a company specialising in low-power, wireless semiconductor technologies for healthcare and digital audio, has announced that SensiumVitals®, its wearable vital signs monitoring system, is to be trialled by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB), part of the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.

SensiumVitals® is a wireless system which takes readings of heart rate, respiration and temperature every two minutes with the data sent wirelessly to clinicians via hospital IT systems.

Anthony Sethill, CEO of Toumaz Group, said: "It is a significant development for us to be deploying SensiumVitals® in one of the UK's leading NHS hospitals.

"Our early trials with other hospitals in the US and the UK have shown that SensiumVitals® improves patient care, shortens hospital stays and reduces healthcare costs."
