This service is designed specifically for Trustees of Charities who wish to entrust the management of the Charity's investments to our expertise.
This service also ensures that the Trustees continue to meet their requirements of a Duty of Care, whilst not precluding their involvement in the management process. We aim to provide high quality Investment Management with good long-term performance and a personal service.
Establishing a Portfolio in line with the Charity's Objectives and Risk Profile
As the service name suggests, the intention is to manage the Charity's investment portfolio within the ethical guidelines, objectives and risk parameters specific to the Charity. In conjunction with the Trustees, we establish a tailor-made investment strategy for the portfolio at the outset and one of our dedicated and experienced Investment Managers assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the investments.
Bespoke Investment Management Philosophy
Our emphasis is on bespoke Investment Management and, through this approach, we develop strong relationships with our clients, based on trust and mutual understanding. Our philosophy is centered on capital preservation through a variety of strategies including geographical allocations, thematic plays and stock selection.
Reporting & Communications
Every six months, or upon specific dates chosen by the Trustees, we provide you with a formal report on the portfolio which includes a detailed valuation and sector breakdown, performance figures, a transaction summary plus a report detailing the reasons for the portfolio activity over the period and a review of the global markets with background and political influences.
Where required we work with the Charity's other advisors and attend regular Trustee meetings. We are happy to support charity events in various capacities where possible.
Redmayne-Bentley & Charities
Following the Trustee Act 2000 which removed the requirement for narrow and wide range investment management, we view the investment of charitable funds as being similar to that required for Court of Protection portfolios and trusts, where a clear distinction must be made between income generated and capital growth.
Redmayne-Bentley applies the same duty of care to any portfolio, be it a charity, pension or individual account. We will work with the trustees to foster a relationship based on trust and mutual understanding. Charity portfolios will be managed in accordance with the specific investment objectives, risk profile and ethical policy applicable to the remit of the charity.
