Augean gets confirmation of hardship for HMRC tax assessment

Waste management company Augean said that it had received confirmation that hardship had been granted for tax assessments received by subsidiary Augean South.

No cash payment would therefore be required to be paid by the company before the conclusion of any tribunal.

'As previously announced, we maintain our position that we have correctly collected and paid the appropriate landfill tax, based on legal advice received and will robustly defend against the assessments,' Augean said.

'We have not provided against the assessments.'

At 2:50pm: (LON:AUG) Augean PLC share price was -3p at 111p
