Dunelm Group lifts profit outlook as 'unseasonably' favourable weather boosts sales

Dunelm Group upgraded its profit outlook as 'strong' trading across its business continued boosted by 'unseasonably' favourable weather conditions. The company said it currently expected profit before tax for the year to be in the range of £124-126m, and underlying profit before tax to come in at £102.0m. In its previous update in April, the company said market expectations for pre-tax profit were in the range of £114m - £118m.

Since its previous update in April, the company said it had seen 'very good' year-on-year total like for like growth, particularly in May and June, reflecting both the soft comparator period (Q4 2018 Total LFL growth of 0.1%) and the unseasonably favourable weather conditions this year.
