EPE Special Opportunities chairman dies

Private investment company EPE Special Opportunities said chairman Geoffrey Vero had died.

A board meeting had been convened for next week to appoint a successor.

The company said Vero had made an invaluable contribution since he was appointed chairman in 2006, leading it through the financial crisis of 2008 and a number of significant and complex corporate transactions.

'The board wishes to acknowledge the many years of support Mr Vero has given ESO, his fellow directors, the shareholders and the investment advisor, and express its gratitude for his outstanding leadership of the company,' it said.
