BHP Billiton reassessing full-year output, cost guidance following impact of Tropical Cyclone Veronica

BHP said it was reassessing its full-year output and unit cost guidance as the impact of Tropical Cyclone Veronica reduced production by approximately 6m to 8m tonnes.

This comes as the company said it would ramp-up operations at BHP Port and Rail Operations in Port Hedland, Western Australia, after being they were suspended due to Tropical Cyclone Veronica.

Final production impacts and revised production and unit cost guidance would be disclosed once they are finalised, the company said. 'We are engaging with our customers and intend to meet our contractual commitments.'
