Botswana Diamonds kicks off drilling at Thorny River prospect in South Africa

Botswana Diamonds said a planned intensification of drilling on its Thorny River prospect in South Africa has commenced.

The programme, which consisted of 40 reverse circulation angle percussion boreholes drilled to a depth of 30 meters was expected to be completed within the next four weeks.

Its purpose was to enable detailed planning for a proposed bulk sampling programme for Thorny River.

Refurbishment of a nearby diamond processing plant was proceeding according to plan in order to process the bulk sample kimberlite, the company said.
