Modern Water welcomes advance of Gibraltar wastewater treatment plant

Waste water treatment group Modern Water said authorities in Gibraltar had submitted an application for planning permission to build the territory's first wastewater treatment plant.

Modern Water said it carried out the preparatory works necessary for the submission, collaborating with joint venture partner NWG Commercial Services.

Obtaining planning permission marked the final step before the JV entered into an agreement with the government to start work on the overall project.

Modern Water would carry out the design and build works on behalf of the JV, the cost of which is estimated in the planning application at £25m.
