Fundraisers bring health and wealth together

It was eyes down at Redmayne Bentley as staff kicked off a year of fundraising for a Yorkshire charity supporting one of the UK’s largest hospital trusts.
The staff of the Leeds office of the investment management and stockbroking firm has chosen Leeds Cares as its charity for 2019.
And fundraising has begun with a Bingo Night held at the Leeds office in Bond Court. Cake sales, half marathons and sponsored walks including the Yorkshire Three Peaks trek are planned for later this year.
Neil Talbot, Corporate Actions Manager and a member of the firm’s Interactive Group which coordinates the firm’s staff fundraising, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Leeds Cares this year and hope that our fundraising can make a difference.
“Leeds Cares is a regional charity supporting Leeds Teaching Hospitals. I’m sure that the majority of our staff in Leeds have utilised NHS services at some point in the past, so it feels great to be able to give all the hardworking clinical and support staff something back by supporting them to make a difference to the lives of patients, families and carers. We’re also contributing to the care and service provided to the region, which is incredibly rewarding.
“We have plenty of fundraising activities in the calendar already for this year, such as baking competitions and outdoor endurance events and we hope that all of our staff will really get behind us to raise money for such a worthy cause.”
Leeds Cares is the charity partner of Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Their mission is to bring caring people together to inspire change; supporting exceptional healthcare and the best possible health and wellbeing for its communities.
The support of donors helps develop new healthcare services, cutting edge equipment and specialist staff as well as support ground breaking research and innovation and enabling health education and training.
Director of Fundraising Kevin Gerrie said the charity was extremely grateful to companies like Redmayne Bentley: “Corporate fundraising is a huge support to Leeds Cares as it raises vital funds but also helps to raise our profile through events and fundraising via employees’ friends and family. We’re really looking forward to working with Redmayne Bentley this year.”
